I would think that someone over at the STrib could find a little better picture of President Kaler rather than continually recycling one stock photo taken when he was in midsentence.

Well, when you are the sixy-something ranked university in the nation, that typically means that you haven't got any stellar profs. Get real Kaler - we aren't in the top three....

I suppose they may be ranked "sixty-something" in something, but as an overall Engineering school they are 29th by one publication. Given that there are 1000+ accredited engineering programs they "U" is in the top 3%. For chemical engineering they are ranked 3rd according to universityreport.net. It's an excellent Engineering school and the point of the article is some schools get more recognition because rewards sometimes come to the most vocal.

I would be more impressed with the U if they could be in the top tier of schools controlling costs and making tuition affordable for middle class students.

Perhaps Kaler should worry more about why the U has tuition that's double that of other public universities in the state, rather than worry about faculty memberships in all these societies and institutes.
