Both White House and State Department spokespersons said it had been confirmed that the attack was a disorganized spontaneous act fueled by anger over a YouTube video. Why do we need to spend money on an investigation if these people told us the truth?

By all means, let's let the State Dept do the investigation. Yes, I'm sure it will be very open and transparent. I'm sure they'll really point the finger at themselves. Why is it that Obama promised the most transparent administration in history and yet he witholds information and investigates itself. Don't let an independent set of investigaters ever come near the truth.

I personally have no faith that this Admninistration will tell the truth and if it ever did it would not be reported by the media. We are living in a very dangerous time. The media refuses to do their job and the government continues to lie. And the Republicans are not much better.

The inexperienced SOS and the inexperienced White House are scrambling to cover their tracks in the biggest f up of the administration. Are they the first administration to get an ambassador killed? I wonder if Obama will call Romney out on foreign affairs experience tonight in the debate?

How much did the Republican's cut last year from the State Department's funding request that included funding for security? $350 million. Of course conservatives don't want to acknowledge that inconvenient fact.

I am guessing none of the posters here, like 90+% of Congress, have ever served in a US Embassy overseas. In short, they are all clueless about how they function and the logistics of security. Please get the facts before you make it about politics, and use those facts to make sure this tragedy is not repeated.

"A five-member accountability review board appointed by Clinton will begin this week looking at whether security at the consulate was adequate and whether proper procedures were followed before, during and immediately after the attack." .............. Heh. Sorta like Mike Tyson's trainer investigating Mike biting off part of Holyfield's ear.
