Bible? The Golden Rule is all he's got. The guy is a mouthy hack who has shown he can barely punt anymore. He can go back to being a champion air guitarist and keep his foul mouth shut.

Chris Kluwe really should stick to punting because he knows nothing about theology. Christ gave us the "Golden Rule" but also came into the world that we might be holy through Him. The Bible makes it quite clear that homosexuality is sin -- no better or worse than any other sin and God dislikes all sin in equal measure -- but it is sin. Christ himself, speaking to the woman caught in adultery, gave quite explicit instructions. He did not condemn, as we are not to condemn, but was quite clear also when He said "go and sin no more".

This buy may be a good punter, but he is a "flake' and his interpretation of the Bible wouldn't be anything I would count on. He just thinks he can comment on anything and people will believe him because he is a good punter.

Thank you Chris Klewe for standing up for what is right. Suddenly, the Vikes are again on my radar.

Chris Klewe is my hero! He unapologetically stood up for what he believes. His open letter, if a bit crude, was passionate and honest. Although he references the Bible, this is about allowing gay people a chance to live as married partners under the law. Separation of Church and State, baby!

Ranger... You forgot to mention that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. And, the overall point of Kluwe is correct about the overall teachings of Jesus The real issue is that too many worhsip the BiBle and not Christ. The Bible is only a small fraction of the books written about Jesus...but they are not complete, nor did Jesus ever say those writing were the only writing to believe. In fact the Gospels and letters were written by people that never met Jesus.

Who cares what the Bible says. We are not voting for Jesus. We are voting for law. If the Bible is going to be the basis for law, then divorce, adultery and women wearing pants need to be illegal.

Hey Ranger, show us where in the Gospels Jesus exhorts his followers to try to introduce religious law into local government policy. I know the Pharisees were all about doing just that and we know what Jesus thought of them.
