The pursuit of happiness

Is it really true that we get happier as we grow older? If so, how can we stay that way?

to the contrary. I will be 58 in 2 weeks. Not happy about it at all. was MUCH happier at 30. Life gets harder every year.

I think there is something to be said for life experience. People of all ages have personal obstacles/challenges to deal with, but when you're younger I think it's fair to say more problems fall into the "crisis" catagory. On the other hand, simply by living longer- the greater variety of problems the typical person is going to encounter & if you'r lucky you also can accept more easily the notion that some times circumstances offer you less than perfect solutions but you learn to be ok with that. As one gains experience in finding solutions for life's issues, chances are the more at peace & happier you will find yourself.
