Where's the love after Vikings victory?

A deafening silence has followed the Vikings' upset of the 49ers, and as far as the young team is concerned, that's OK.

For sure, this is the quietest it's been in Viking land since Bud Grant roamed the sidelines. I can live without DEs stating their arms are more powerful than cop's bullets, or reading about boat trips. Or whizzinators, DUIs, etc.

As a Viking fan I can say that I knew the Vikings had the ability to do that. I knew we were better than critics thought coming into this season. However that type of performance has been inconsistent at best. If the Vikings are to make a leap into relevance they need to deliver that kind of performance on a more consistent basis. To me I think the win against the 49ers was a flash of our potential. I think with one or two more drafts and continued practice to perfect the kind of performance they demonstrated against the 49ers...there is reason to believe in MN things are looking up.

One game does not a season make so after a 3-13 season and a 2-1 start the Vikes national band wagon is going to be pretty short. I like this much better than the circus #4 brought to town and I think the Vikes will respond better with less pressure anyway. Besides the national media is too busy covering the 1-2 Packers, Patriots, and Steelers. Media coverage don't win games anyway.

Losing to the worst team in the league the week before is the reason many fans were absent. They just did not want to be subjected to another home loss. Purple paint only looks good on winners. If they beat the Lions the house will be full for the Titans.

I have to say the Vikes have been entertaining to watch so far this season. I've gotta give credit to Frazier and his staff for motivating this team and getting them to play well. And Ponder has done a pretty good job as well. He's not turning the ball over very much. Its way too early to make judgements about Ponder or the Vikings as a team. But early signs are encouraging. Skol Vikes! Beat the Motor City Kitties!

This club has never given any love back to it's long suffering fan base and everyone knows this team will let the fans down in a heartbeat and quite frankly we are more than tired of the overly hyped homeristic nonsense that Winter Park, KFAN and the Strib spews forth on a daily basis. It is clear that all this hype is used for nothing more than a desperate attempt designed to sell more advertising and season tickets to a fan base that is less than a year removed from a 3-13 season and no Super Bowl trophy to be proud of. If the purple are able to break their 0-11 NFC North losing streak tomorrow than maybe there will be a little more love left over to spread around but in the meantime maybe Zygi needs to spread some love to us fans for once!!!

they have played 'entertaining' games this year. win? on the road?. that would be impressive. good luck vikes. forget about sacks, and yards, and etc., etc. ; do like last time; TEAM WINS. if any individual needs to regret not setting some stupid "STAT" record in a game that his team wins ??????????? loser.

Agree 100%, tjack48. I would like to add that the reason we won is that the Niners did NOT take the Vikings serious enough and were looking beyond them to their next game, just like the Vikings did with the Colts.

If the Vikes beat the Lions it will still not generate that much buzz except to say we beat a team that last year was playoff team. The Lions have not performed up to expectations this year either. Lets see them either go on a role with a 5-1,7- 2 record. To the folks that say it's been 30 years since we've had attention, Were you not in Minnesota back in 1998-1999? I personally thought last year and at the start of the season that if Ponder could not lose the game with picks and if AP stayed healthy we were a decent team. Now with the Lions & Packers struggling, we could do something better.

It is more true today than ever, that any team can beat any other team in the NFL.... I keep that in mind when I watch the vikes and I enjoy watching them although at times, it is frustrating when the play calling and defense get so predictable. I am not ready to put a purple flag on my car, or even a bumper sticker, yet. They have a lot to prove yet and I have been around too many years to get my hopes up. A victory over Detroit, on the road, would mean something today, but if I HAD to bet on this game, I would bet on Detroit... sorry. I hope I am wrong.
