A camp injury left him catching up, but the tight end is both patient and confident.

Hmm. Two tight end set, a great slot receiver, and a deep threat. Maybe Ponder will develop into Brady. Oh, and having Purple Jesus never hurts. On paper, the offense is great. Crossing fingers and hoping for the best!!

0 catches is 3 games?? What a bust!

Saying he was only targeted twice is misleading. He obviously has not been getting open as a 2nd or 3rd option either. While 65 plays isn't a lot, no catches for $ 5 million a year is concerning.......

Funny how people were labeling Ponder a bust not to long ago, yes the Vikings paid Carlson a lot of money, the kid needs a chance to get acclimated to the new offense scheme for him. He was very productive in Seattle when healthy and will be soon in Minnesota. Now that Jerome Simpson is back that should really help the overall offense for the TE's Rudolph and Carlson should see more open space in the intermediate routes to roam with teams now being forced to play a conventional straight up defense as oppose to their safety's playing at or near the line scrimmage most of the time.

Who cares, do the Atlanta beat writers dedicate a story on why Tony Gonzalez' backup isn't getting many catches? No. He is like an Appendix....there but doesn't really matter to the whole.

John Carlson is on the Vikings? I haven't seen him yet. When will he join the team?
