It's about time the DNR is held accountable for something.

DNR is in bed with the ATV and yahoo crowd.

There were questions about his qualifications when he was appointed. Now they've been answered - he doesn't have any beyond being a Pawlenty crony. Carol Molnau didn't have any to run MNDOT and now Mark Holsten has proven his worth. The buck stops with Tim Pawlenty.

The above comments reflect the idiocy of organizations like the Animal Protective Institute. I've never trapped anything but mice, and some of those might be endangered for all I know. These lynx were apparently trapped by accident,so what is this judge thinking?! Protected animals are struck by autos as well...are we regulate special regulations for that??

The DNR employees are all just hunters thinly veiled by environmental blah-blah. Really pathetic.

By genojohn's logic the shouldn't have pull DDT. Fact is doing so saved raptors. Trapping is indiscriminate. Lynx can and do avoid cars. Traps are there unseen waiting to catch whatever walks by. The animals don't know they're there. The traps don't care what they catch. I'll wager that there are stats about cars striking lynx. Check 'em out GJ. I'll wager they make the judge look like a genius.

Lynx are very good and tasty animal

About time something is being done about this. It's obvious that trapping where there are lynx will inadvertently catch a few lynx. So all this ruling did was put two and two together.

Certain trapping methods have way too much 'whoops' by-catch and have got to go (snaring, foot traps with bait). I know because I've done it.
