Center John Sullivan said the team's upset over the 49ers was huge, but the key is keeping it going in Detroit.

Sid, I too am hopeful, but the season is still very young for both football teams. Pardon me for not getting my hopes up too high.

comment229 - I know what you're saying. The season is young but both of these teams are very young as well. The 4-0 Gophers are improving week to week. They're learning how to win and that makes them dangerous. Everyone pretty much figured the Vikes to be 2-1 at this point (albeit beating the Colts and losing to the 49ers instead of vice versa). That win last Sunday put teams on alert that this is not the 2011 version of the MN Vikings. They will surprise a few more teams along the way. Keep your hopes high! Remember..."Hope, is a good thing!"

AlohaMike Says "Hope, is a good thing" Not referring to that OLD Hope And Change thing we are tired of hearing. How about “Nope You Can Keep The Change” Now that sounds better.

Iowa is a 6 point favorite because Vegas knows the Gophers rarely win in Iowa City. The Gophers will most likely get blown out and brought back to earth on Saturday

Let's not make the Lions game bigger than it actually is. The Vikes are young, as is the season. It's likely that for every San Fran game there will be an Indy, so if they stink it up come Sunday don't start calling for the QB's head. Vikes are showing great POTENTIAL, but they're still a ways away from capturing the division.

Both Ponder and Frazier have yet to beat the Lions or any other NFC North opponent in their short lived careers. You would think the Lions would be the easiest team of any to beat but it has yet to happen and it will not since the vikings usually have problems playing on the road no matter who the opponent (see the Colts game two weeks ago).

If the Vikes can play as they did last week, they have a decent chance to win on the road. But will they. History says no but this 2012 version is younger and improved at many positions. They need seasoning and time together before winning consistently.

The gopher recievers right now are made up of twin city suburban hopefuls and southern speedsters that are midgets and were not recruited by the big time southern schools. Too many of Shortell's passes are touched but not caught. The gophers need some protypical recievers that are about 6-5, oh yea, someone the same size as Marquise Gray.

Don't know if you can put Sully in the pro bowl yet. We'll see how he does Sunday against Suh and Fairley. If AP can get going agaist Lions Vikes should be able to control the ball and keep Megatron off the field which should increase the chance of victory. O line was one of the unsung heros against 49ers and they will also need big game this week. D line must play better this week to help the secondary contain explosive receivers.
