The divide falls largely along political lines. Younger voters were more strongly in favor of law.

Younger people are smarter and the future of America. Universal health care is coming.

Basically what the new health care law did was take away health care from the elderly and give it to the younger people who did not earn it.

So many benefits to this law: no lifetime limits; no kicking people off who get sick; young adults on their parents insurance until age 26; no denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions.

How many people really ubderstand the health care bill? Dems love it and Republicans hate it. Simply because of party affilliations. Even the senators and congressman that make the laws don't understand it. That much is evident in the rhetoric. Why don't we talk rationally instead of taking sides. Come up with ideas instead of criticism.

"But anytime the government gets in there, your health care is going to suffer. It's going to deteriorate." .... and yet he praised his Medicare. Go figure.

Who knows what Romney thinks about Obamneycare? Depends on who asks the question, I guess.

"Basically what the new health care law did was take away health care from the elderly and give it to the younger people who did not earn it." --- First, why would one have to "earn" health care? Second, your comment is simply not true. How have we taken away health care for the elderly? This is anything but. The law CLOSED the prescription donut hole, saving the elderly thousands of dollars per year.

Obama in 2008: "the only thing we're going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you. And we estimate we can cut the average family's premium by about $2,500 per year." "We are going to work with you to lower your premiums by $2,500. We will not wait 20 years from now to do it, or 10 years from now to do it. We will do it by the end of my first term as president." That didn't quite work out. According to the Kaiser Foundation, family health insurance premiums have instead gone up an average of $3,000 since candidate Obama made those promises.

"Basically what the new health care law did was take away health care from the elderly and give it to the younger people who did not earn it.".....................What this poster and Mr. Timm obviously do not understand is that a Ryan plan would open up the donut hole again, costing seniors thousands more in prescriptions each year. Worse (and Romney's not talking to seniors about this at all), Ryan would cut Medicare by 52%, thereby cutting all funding for long term care for seniors. The GOP's trying to slide by assuring seniors , "Don't worry, only those under 55 will be affected" without mentioning, "Oh - BTW, if you're in a nursing home, we're going to cut funding immediately!" Their lies are apparently fooling seniors and some posters on this board. Another lie is that Obama's taking 716 billion out of Medicare. In fact what he's done is reduced overpayments to drug and insurance companies, thereby extending Medicare's solvency by another decade. The GOP has the very same amount designated for "savings", but in fact has other plans for this 716 billion which will NOT extend Medicare. I've never seen so many lies coming out of one party - it's disgraceful.

It's sad that so many people are swayed by political ads about the law and not what is in the law. The old adage that if you manage to inflame an issue, people will vote against their own self-interest is certainly true.
