Everybody is giddy about this last game, as well they should. Now we'll see how this young team handles that bit of success on the road against a team that smells desperate.

Too early to tell, but this team is definitely better than last year's. I am very impressed with the rookies this year, as they are stepping up. Detroit will be a tough team to beat, especially at home. However, there's nothing Detroit has that this team has...except the freak at WR. BTW - Randy Moss was such a non-factor in the game on Sunday I forgot he was even playing. I thought he'd come into the game much more motivated.

I'm a season ticket holder, and I'm cautiously optimistic......but its puzzling that the same team can make the Superbowl favorite look so bad, and the likes of Indianapolis and Jacksonville look so good. Was nice that our guys established enough of a lead that the inept ref's didn't matter at the end of the game. They were an annoyance, rather than a difference-maker. Offenses that can establish 17-20 point leads over an opponent early, will be more important this season than ever before.....

The Vikes have played up or down to the level of their opponent for years. Nothing new to see here.

can someone explain what an NFL "game plan" actually is? i'm curious what the players get handed on wednesdays. is it a 2-page memo with high level concepts about the other team's strengths and weaknesses and trends on offense and defense? a 30 page book of plays that will be emphasized? i don't know anything about it but i'm curious.

The game plan is basically how you are going to attack a defense and stop their offense. The offensive game plane is looking to create match ups that favor the vikings like shifting formation and putting a receiver in motion so Harvin is being covered by a linebacker. The teams scheme play calls like other teams like to run delays or draws to Jared Allen's side because he is usually up field taking himself out of running plays.

It reminded of the old Bud Grant teams with Tarkenton at the helm, throwing to running backs, tight ends, receivers, it was a thing of beauty! The 49ers didn't know what was coming next, let's keep it up and become an offensive power house once again. We have a young team that can only get better as the season progresses. I'm really excited about the rest of the season with what I saw this past Sunday!!

Tabarnoosh: Vikings should've won both of those games last year against the Lions, we let a huge lead slip at home & a face mask penalty wasn't called on their defense when we played them in Detroit last year. I don't think the Vikings have forgotten about those 2 losses, I feel very confident we'll go in there and show them who the better team is!!!!!!

What about our defensive coordinator? That man seems to have everybody doing their job, especially the defensive backfield. The defensive line was smart and aggressive and the man got Brinkley prepared to play a comprehensive game.
