It should be pretty obvious by now that the real refs deserve the money they are asking for. Not that it would be a drop in the ocean for the obscenely rich NFL owners anyway. They are only fighting it because they can, being the overall jerks that only the super-rich can be. (e.g. see Mittens' comments to his super-rich contributors).

Most sideline fans know the rules better than some of these officials. How can that be? Appears the vetting was not very good.

Here's what gets me. Harbaugh was granted two illegal challenges. Did none of the replay officials -- who are not being locked out by the NFL and are therefore the regular professionals -- think to tell Ken Roan that the first challenge was illegal on its face? If not, why not?

Was at the game...I'm predicting that this fiasco will be what stirs the NFL to ante up. Read that the refs just want what they've gotten in the past...and the NFL is trying to cut their retirement packages...amounts to $3million in a multi-billion industry. Greedy owners...

The part that is hard to believe is the incompetence of the NFL leader. Think if you were Roger and wanted to play hardball with the regular refs. Wouldn't you seek the best possible replacements and train them, and provide an official in the booth or on the field who could advise or over rule them. Hard to believe a billion dollar corporation could be so stupid. Make you wonder what other bad decisions has the NFL made.
