The Vikings say this was not just another victory. It was a statement that they have the ability to compete -- right now.

Great game for the Purple. One of the best I've seen in a long time! In addition, we can all agree that it's time for the NFL to settle this petty labor dispute with the real officials. I "Challenge" anyone to defend the replacement officials' ineptitude...

I have an unrelated question. Why do teams bother to sign Randy Moss if they have no intention of throwing to him? Has Randy done anything remarkable since leaving us? His time in NE comes close, but thats it. Randy..come home. Retire a Viking

Vikings and Gophers making football fun to watch this fall! Well done, fellas.

I am impressed with the attitude change this week. This win does not make the Vikes season it is a spring board for things to come. The Vikes have to be ready for a stoaked Lions team that has been underachieving so far this year. We will find out if this team has turned the corner at Ford field next week. Hopefully this young team really enjoyed this win today and wants to make it a habit.

Coach Frazier had the boys ready to play today. Let's hope the boys do a better job handling the success of the previous Sunday next week in Detroit. After the 24 hour feel good period passes, it's back to work.

I pray to please don't let this be a fluke. Let this be more of things to come. Yes, they (the Niners) aren't necessarily a passing team, I know.. but please let us use this game to build up momentum to challenge teams who are pass-heavy. The defense seemed to be flying around out there. Ponder seemed to be poised and made great decisions. So please, don't let pass-happy teams ruin all of our fun. Amen.

Where are all the Christian Ponder haters at now?

Things went well for the team, up until the last 3 minutes or so. From what I saw on Sunday: Leave Adrian in at the end of the game to run the clock out. Toby has hands of concrete. Three fumbles! Yikes!

Exactly olymipia. Somewhere they'll say the 49ers were flat or didn't take the Vikings seriously. Horse hockey! Every team takes every team seriously. The vikings just kicked the 49ers fair and square and decisively.

I have long held a theory that the Vikings team owner, no matter who he is, has two exact Vikings line ups, the second cloned from the the original player that make the team every year. The originals are good ball players, the cloned team as inept as humanly possible. Which team is fielded weekly is selected by some random process. I can come up with no explanation for great wins like we saw on Sunday followed the next week by an effort that wouldn't beat a mediocre Div II college team. This has been going on since I first started watching them in the 60s.... But anyway, great effort by all on both sides of the ball. Even the defensive backfield contributed to the win, rather than a loss as is normal for them. I have no idea what was up with Gerhart, was he sick or something at the end? Lastly, those replacement refs completely botching the last 3 minutes of the game, I don't know what it takes to fire them but if that isn't it, they are set better than having a union card...
