Mauer is a class act and a great player. Anyone who thinks differently does not know sports and, frankly, has little or no class.

Isnt that cute, Mauer still thinks his team is in contention...

Wow, looking like the Twinks may actually not lose 100 games this year. Looks like Gardy gets to keep his job!

BallFourSep. 23, 12 8:53 PM

Got a long, long list of frequent visitors here who "guaranteed" 100 losses, led by a "sure thing" prediction of 106. Sorry boys, 99 losses ain't 100, and it sure ain't 106. Let the excuses begin.

@BallFour ok I'll eat a little crow...cuz I think I said 100, then I believed 99...well it won't be either, still you can't be doing "hand stands" at 90 losses. Improvement over last year? Yes, but not by much. I know a lot of posters on here "hate" the Yankees but look where they are at every year. Yes, it's a big/huge market but they are condition to accept nothing but winning and what is wrong with that? I think Texas has that attitude too with the Rangers...nothing short of the Series will do...sure wish the Twins had it. Mystery to me why when you've been there/'87 and '91 why in the world wouldn't you want to do everything you could to get back? Guess Jimbo has other plans.

Coming short of the century mark is losses is cause for too much celebration. Need to improve their win total by atleast 20 games for me to getting excited about them going or heading in the right direction.

Yesterday I posted the Twinks would drop both games today and that Gardy should be fired. I most humbly admit that I was wrong (except for the Gardy part).

lindy_frank@BallFour ok I'll eat a little crow...cuz I think I said 100, then I believed 99...well it won't be either, still you can't be doing "hand stands" at 90 losses. Improvement BALLFOUR: Nope, you can't. But that's not the point. Here at Second Guessers Anonymous, members are always right. Except when they have to make a first guess. And that's the point. Rare is it that they do, but when they do, they're wrong. But hey, you guys can always "shift" the topic to something like handstands' or better yet, wait till the season ends and tell us how many losses the team will have. then you will all be "perfect" again.

firefly70Sep. 24, 12 3:07 AM

Whoa. The Twins are guaranteed not to lose 100 games this season. I guess that means we should hold a ticker tape parade. Wow. Really starting to split hairs now with the "predictions". It would be one thing if a few of the baseball guru's here predicted the Twins would end the season at .500 and then they actually did, while most thought they would be well over 90 losses. Then I could understand a smart-alec comment about "predictions". But to try and rub it in the faces of others that the Twins won't actually lose 100 games and might 'only' lose 93, 94 games is pretty amusing. Point is, the Twins were/are still a pretty bad team - which plenty of people predicted they were going to be.

roscoe2511Sep. 24, 12 3:11 AM

And with these wins the Twins clinch a non 100 loss season again. And there was "much rejoicing"
