Enjoy the ride Gopher fans! You have earned it. And congrats to MN for locking up Coach Kill for another 5 seasons. It's just great to see TCF full.

8-4 is doable at this point.

The defense is ridiculously fun to watch right now. I'd forgotten how exciting sacks and turnovers are when they aren't against YOUR offense. LOL Great time at TCF, as always. People should be buying up season tickets. Because there's not many seniors graduating and the schedule gets BETTER the next two years. (IU and wounded PSU on the slate as crossover games). Shoudl be great fun the next few years. Future is bright.

Love the aggressiveness of the defense, flying to the ball, gang tackling, sacking the QB and forcing turnovers. Have to give the defense the credit for this win. Shortell wasn't as sharp, overthrew receivers and threw behind receivers, barely completing over 50%. Hoping he will settle his feet more in the pocket to make the accurate throws...which he will with more game experience. Gophers will need Wettstein to make his FGs in Big 10 play. Coach Kill needs to definitely recruit a reliable kicker for next season.

Iowa will be out for blood. They want Floyd back in Iowa City. If the Gophers win I may run my first marathon in ice skates!

A reliable kicker will come in handy this Big 10 season.

podman64Sep. 23, 12 6:27 AM

The defense has become the force of the team and as Shortell plays more the, offense will improve also. He should have started during last years learning year. At least he can throw and just needs more game experience. I hope, when Gray comes back Coach Kill plays him at end or HB with Shortell, that could be an interesting backfield.

Nice win. hopefully this presages a few years when good Gopher teams have a head coach NOT named Warmath.

bkfulcherSep. 23, 12 7:26 AM

I am happy to see the Gophers winning again. However, before anyone gets to carried away, I am posting this on the plane flying back from watching Auburn and LSU play last evening at Jordan Hare. Anyone who thinks the Gophers are ready to play with teams for the SEC is kidding themselves.

HughsterSep. 23, 12 7:35 AM

@bkfulcher The Gophers aren't in the SEC, they are in the Big Ten. They are ready to play with teams in the Big Ten.
