Hartman: Gerhart big believer in 49ers' Harbaugh

The Viking played for him at Stanford and saw him turn the program around just like he has with the 49ers.

The Niners were losers when Singletarry was there. Harbaugh made an immediate difference. Too bad the Vikings didn't go after Harbaugh.

When explaining San Francisco's success last season, the only thing that matters is that they went from -1 in turnovers in 2010 to + 28 in 2011! Until the Vikings stop celebrating "near" interceptions and start taking advantage of their opportunities, they are going nowhere.

Ralliss is a refreshingly intelligent, articulate athlete. Nice

"It's interesting that two top local pro teams -- the Vikings and the Twins -- are dealing with more no-shows than ever before."-----yeah, really tough to figure that one out.

I keep saying that I really like Fraiser and you don't need to be a rah rah type coach. But so far the Vikings seem as flat as a pancake from start to nearly finish. They don't come out with a sense of urgency and aggressiveness that matches with the other team. You need that. And that's coaching.

Funny how nobody has ever uttered those type of inspiring words when refering to Leslie Frazier!!! After the vikings finish 4-12 this season maybe we will have a new head coach and general manager that the players and fans can believe in!!!

Harbaugh was a great player at Michigan, a great player at the Bears until "Spitka Ditka" almost ruined him, and a great player at the Colts. His college coaching was the same way as a player. GREAT! Now why would we go after a proven commodity? Instead we hire Les Frazier. This organization let Tony Dungy get away and the coach at Pittsburgh leave. Why would we ever expect them to hire anyone but Frazier. Don't blame Frazier blame the brain thrust or should I brainless thrust.

Yes, I also wonder where the "hyped up" tight ends have been, including Carlson. Remember before the season started, Carlson was suppose to be leading the way. I guess that went out the door. As for no-shows at games, it proves that the Twins have lost another season, and the Vikings are still looked at a team that is rebuilding. If someone "gave" me a ticket, I guess I would go to a game.

I wonder if Gerhart is as big a believer in his own head coach. I like Frazier and thought he was a very good defensive coach, but this Viking team is error prone, undisciplined and flat. There's a question whether they make best use of the talent they have. When Les Steckel was fired and Grant came back the following year, the difference in the team was huge and immediate. Of all the major sports, head coaching makes the biggest difference in football. It's pretty obvious, even to the casual fan, what well-coached and poorly-coached teams look like. The Vikings aren't loaded with talent, but I keep wondering what a Grant-caliber coach could do with this group, and I keep wondering whether this ownership would recognize that kind of coaching prospect even if he were under their noses (Mike Tomlin).
