Who's going to clean up what comes out the none mower end of these goats?
Buckthorn seeds pass through birds already, after they eat the berries, and germinate. You can see Buckthorn surrounding bigger trees where birds roost. I would think it would work the same with goats. Would goats eat the rest of the Buckthorn plant anyway?
You have to cut the buckthorn down before the berries appear otherwise it's almost impossible to get rid rid of them. They spread like wildfire.
Blatherskite...I think goat poop is the least thing you have to worry about in an area infested with buckthorn
It won't work. We kept some goats on our property for a summer to try to do just thing. Unfortunately, goats don't really LIKE buckthorn. They'd eat everything else in their enclosure and leave the buckthorn, and I read later that this was true. They did to a great job on the poison ivy though.
