I know it's a little thing, but why is the school system spending money on bottled water? Are there no more drinking fountains? I can't believe I made it through 12 years of public school without bottled water!

I'm with you, "squarn." No hot furnace action until after the Crock Pot Opener, which is in early October (actual date determined from the first New Moon, going by the Julian Calendar, and whether Pot Roasts are on sale at Cub).

Sounds like some people need to get a better insulated home. I haven't turned the furnace on yet and the coolest I've seen my thermostat at has been 71 degrees. This entire week my house has heated up to the upper 70s from the daytime sun (with the exception of the rainy day).
