I love Claeys' strategy. It's refreshing to see someone stand on their own research and work and not cave to the opinions of others.

Those rating services have always been "overated." (Pun intended )

I'm glad that Derrick was given the opportunity to play here. He has been one of the pleasant surprises so far this season.

I wonder if Kill and his staff know anything about baseball.

Hopefully, this trial and error method will some day get them a running back that can take it to the house- like Maroney, Barber, Russel, Tapeh, etc.

Looking at players like D Wells and walk-on AJ Barker and walk-on punter Christian Elldred and the development of players that had struggled to reach potential like DL Wilhite and Ra'Shede Hageman and Michael Carter should give every Gopher fan who is paying any attention great faith that we are headed in the right direction. Yes, we need to land some recruits with some stars to their name once in awhile, but the true mark of a program heading in the right direction is that when the inevitable injuries happen, there are actually able bodies ready to play and contribute. So far so good. Whatever happens the rest of this year, we are definitely, without a doubt, headed in the right direction. Kill and Claeys and Limegrover and the rest are doing a great job over there. Excited for Saturday night!

Heard where one of the Super Bowl teams last year (don't remember which one) had around 20 players on their team who were 2 stars or below coming out of high school on their roster. Teams like Boise St. and Utah started their runs with kids like those. Having said that...it's sure a lot easier if you're Urban Meyer or Nick Saban and you get your pick of the highest rated at every position.
