Florimon, 25, has enough talent to keep the team's starting shortstop job next year, but he needs to make the routine plays.

Isn't it interesting that Gardy (and the beat writer) suggest Florimon has to do more to keep the starting shortstop job next year. I don't argue that. But where was that same thinking with Dozier, who seemed to get a pass for most of the season?

Joe are you working for player development? Enough talent to make it as their starter next year? Really? With those stats? Hardly...time to look elsewhere for a shortstop.

Jim Rantz should be out of a job just as much as Buffet Billy.

SS is a need for this team. They need to be solid up the middle. Mauer has been terrible behind the plate throwing out base stealers. Dozier and Florimon have been terrible defensively at SS. I still don't know who the starting 2B is this year and the season is almost over. Thankfully this organization has depth at the CF position. I know that everyone wants the Twins to trade for starting pitching but wouldn't it help all of the Twins pitcher to get the SS position figured out? This team needs more than just a couple arms for the rotation it needs to be strong up the middle as well if they want to compete.
