Brooks has missed the point again. The 47% are those that file a federal return and pay no taxes or get a refund via the EITC inspite of paying no tax. A veteran going to a VA hospital is not in the equation. I find nothing objectionable about Romney's comments nor do most os Americans. Watch the polls.

The democrats think they have found a real smoking gun. It reminds me of my dog who goes to the lake, finds a dead fish and returns with what he thinks is a real treasure. The democrats have found a dead fish...Nothing more.

What Romney said is the view of the Republicans and the Tea Party. They are all so afraid that someone will get something they can't. They are against the very basic value of Christianity, Help Thy Neighbor. This paranoia is what is wrong with the party(s). If this thinking is allowed to continue, this country is doomed. The said part is the hypocrisy of it all. It is very very sad and I am glad not to be on their side.

Brooks is unbelievable, like most libs at the Times. Where did Romney use the word "freeloader," first of all? Romney has been on a roll this past week, exposing Owebama for the latter's foreign policy and domestic debacles....not that the media wants to cover them. now we see why Romney neglected to mention the sacrifices of our troops in his convention speech: he doesn't consider them worthwhile sacrifices.

In my opinion, Obama is the one pretending. Obama is a low level community organizer pretending to be president. The result of a pretender is his failed domestic and foreign policies. He is the Great Pretender.

Sure, I'll watch the polls. Romney just basically said he doesn't care about half of the electorate. Regardless of whether this incldes Vets and Grandma, it doesn't bode well for his campaign. When you are trying to be elected, it isn't a good idea to dis half the electorate.

Odd that a man who has not labored a day in his life feels he is entitled to call 47% of Americans government moochers. A man who refuses to release his taxes so we can see how much government welfare he decided to keep for himself. A man married to a woman who says "you people" more often than the Pope blesses. A man who has yet to meet a middle class working stiff on his campaign trail that makes $40k a year which supports and feeds a family of five. There is not a conservative blogger or talking head in this country that can save Romney's pathetically lost soul,sorry butt, or election.

There is no way to make a positive spin out of Romney's words. He revealed his heart and mind. There was a time I thought he made a good candidate for President. He certainly is not reflecting my understanding of Christian values in his clear prejudice against the poor.

Mitt cares deeply about the middle class, as long as they remain at the bottom of the pile. What a leader.
