The government will get your money one way or another guaranteed.
"The government will get your money one way or another guaranteed." - The NFL is not the government, not that anyone would recognize the line between the two in Minnesota apperently.
Hurry people, we need all those of you who gamble to spend as much as possible on these electronic pulltabs, because I do not want to be left paying for this stupid stadium.
Get this moving and start collecting the revenue! If we pile up an excess of cash that's ok too!
This electronic pulltabs experiment will go down as one of Minnesota's most epic failures. They will generate nowhere near the amount of $ that the stadium pushers (Rybak & Dayton) promised. I'd laugh, but us taxpayers will be left paying the tab so its not funny at all.
"Get this moving and start collecting the revenue! If we pile up an excess of cash that's ok too!".............You do realize, sweekjack, that this will just suck revenue from other pulltab and gambling? There will be NO more excess revenue and that the taxpayers are on the hook for the deficit.
I still don't get it. They allow this gambling after the stadium is approved! Thankgoodness they are going to, I wonder what would happen if it wasn't.
"because I do not want to be left paying for this stupid stadium." - You shouldn't be, the legislature would have to approve the spending and they wouldn't be wise in doing that. If this isn't sustainable based on the public funding mechanisim, then we have no alternative other than privatize the unsustainable, wasteful, burdensome edifice and let the private market do what it does so well, allow people to sink or swim based on their own merits.
commonsens4u, I couldn't agree with you more. And you will see the legislature revisit this issue of stadium funding once again since they will not be able to provide the revenue of electronic pull tabs.
Just give us a state run casino in Mpls or at MOA already. Would fund the stadium in no time and countless other pet projects that need public dollars. Don't pay attention to the scare tactic stats that are forwarded mostly by Indian Gaming special interest groups, they are just trying to protect their goldmine.
