The oldest house currently on the market in Minnesota has been on the National Historical Register since 1979. It was nearly demolished a few years ago. It's not alone in its precarious situation.

I looked at the photos. That house is simply stunning. Amazing that it was almost demolished. Well done Mr Glaser!!! You have a real talent for restoring homes.

More than $100K? I bet it was more like $200k. It's sad but after doing more than a few major whole house renovations, I've found that it can be outrageously expensive to bring these old homes back to life. That's why so many of our old homes are disappearing, it just doesn't make financial sense to renovate and there aren't enough people out there with enough disposable income that they can do things these kinds of updates. If you've got the cash what you do end up with is a really cool house with lots of character and history, and that you can't put a price tag on.

This is a poorly written article! When Mr. Glaser took ownership of this house, much of the rehabilitation had already been done! This article does not give the proper history on how this house came to be restored!
