Tell us again why we need this museum and are using tax dollars for it? If you are against public funding of stadiums you must be against this as well.

I CAN ONLY ASSUME that the people running this thing graduated from the MPLS school district. Remember that Dayton ORIGINALLY left out funding for this and it was only after the African American community went balistic then Dayton added the funding. Now look what you have.

Well at least this time they didn't insinuate the bank is somehow wrong for wanting their correct first position.

This museum can't raise funds, so a small bank - a small, private business - is supposed to give it money and accept the risk that the museum will not be able to pay back the loan? Seriously? I say to the "African American Museum": start doing the hard work that all other non-profits do and raise the money yourselves instead of demanding a free lunch on the backs of a small business.

Pretty clearly there is no interest in this museum. If the black community believed in this project it would have been supported, or maybe it's Roxanne Givens who lacks the support. Either way, the energy and funds should be put to use on a project that has the prospect of long term success, something this museum doesn't have.

Maybe they should put the museum inside the new Vikings stadium. It's already funded, and you're guaranteed 60,000 visitors eight or ten times a year. It's a win-win.

How come the Afro-American community is not outpuring their money?

I was happy to provide a donation to the museum via my employer's united way campaign. This museum is long overdue.

Can anyone tell me where the Euro-American history museum is in Minnesota? Or the Asian-American, Latin-American, Baltic-American and Native American History Museums? I'd like to visit those to see and hear their stories/contributions to Minnesota as well.

@commonsens4u : Can anyone tell me where the Euro-American history museum is in Minnesota? (How about the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis? Or the Gammelgarden Museum in Scandia? Or try almost any other museum which will be overwhelmingly focussed on European Americans). Or the Asian-American, Latin-American, Baltic-American and Native American History Museums? (Not a lot of Asian or Latin American museums, granted, but there's the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis, and there's a group working to build an Asian Pacific Cultural Center. As for Native American theres: Bois Fort Heritage Museum, the Mille Lacs Indian Museum, the Pipestone National Monument and the Spirit of Peace Indian Museum.)Feel free to search Wikipedia, they have a whole page dedicated to Museums in Minnesota, where I found all of these and more.
