Instead of locking the players out the league should lock bettman two player reps two owner reps and a mediator in a room and they can't come out until the job is finished.

Several Wild players and Minnesota-based NHLers like Dustin Byfuglien, Paul Martin and Keith Ballard will skate in St. Louis Park in what Cullen joked would be a "glorified beer league -- without the beer." ---- If by glorified you mean a league with professionals and/or really talented skaters, you guys are not either of those two. Professionals do their job and don't complain when making millions. Those who are talented get fans to show up and make the Minnesota Mild team profitable (no profit in FOUR YEARS...nice going). We let the whiny North Stars leave and can do that with an unreliable team even easier now that every sports' game is broadcast on some channel for us to watch.

Who cares! Hockey isn't a major sport except in Canada.

I got a suggestion...how bout the players/Wild pay some of those 500 out of work people? Yeh, like Jay Leno took a pay cut so his staff would still be working. They've got enough money.

You can thank Donald Fehr, the NHLPA director who stood in the way of the Wild's realignment to a Midwestern division, for this debacle. As the engineer of the 1994 baseball strike that wiped out the 1994 World Series, Fehr is now the only Executive Director to be involved in work stoppages in two sports.
