Andrew Luck's dad played for the Oilers from 1983-86. Peyton Manning's dad played for the Vikings. But the Colts were defeated by the Bears by 20 and the Packers defeated the Bears by 13. So, 20+13= a Viking win ! ! ! Minnesota 26, Indiana 21.

Archie played on some REALLY bad Saints teams before wrapping up his career with the Vikings. As great as his kids are, makes you wonder what he could have accomplished on a better team. Or even with a decent O line. Luck looks good. Did his dad ever start for the Oilers? Don't remember him...

Key to winning this game, is to keep constant pressure on Luck, if we can't do it with a four man rush, we need to blitz him. We give him time, he will shred our pass defense. Same can be said about Indianapolis, there key to winning is keep pressure on Ponder. The best offensive line, will win the game. Edge goes to the Vikes.

We all know Luck needs pressure......anyone who watches football knows that. the real key is to cover Wayne and Lucks team mate in college tight end Fleener. I bet he will try alot of throws to the tight end. Fleener was his favorite target in college.

It was so so obvious the Colts tried to lose as many games as possible in order to get Luck last year. He along with Manning type of player don't come along very often. I hope if ponder doesn't turn out to establish himself as a top Qb they don't do something stupid and draft Barkley next year. He is going to be a flop in the NFL.

We have a good chance to win this one, a lot of pressure on Luck will definitely throw him out of synch. If we don't he could get on a roll & with our weak secondary, could have a field day. Our offense needs to play with urgency from play one, not until late in the 3rd quarter. 2-0 is very possible if Frazier can implement a good game plan for 4 complete quarters, which is has been very rare for this struggling head coach.

Looking towards Vikings becoming dominate again and looking back to just last year with Peterson's injury in a meaningless game that cost us the #2 draft slot, I offer this up. IF the Vikings should lose today to the Colts, I think they should give serious consideration to trading Jared Allen now for draft choice(s).I like Allen but we need to face the fact that we are rebuilding and without added draft choices, Allen will no longer be in his prime by the time the Vikings become competitive again. If we can't beat the Colts with the major rebuilding they are doing then the Vikes need to face the facts.

We need to win this one to keep the lowly Packers below the Vikes. They will have to look up to us once again. And next week we will beat the 49s after they have to play the lions this week and after they played the packees they will be drained a little and flat and over confident and next week will be the 2nd biggest upset of the whole year. The Vikings will beat the packers one game also. Realistically we probably won't be the 49s because they have so much depth at wide receivers and have great running backs. They have a team similar to the 98 15-1 Viking team. And the 49s are clearly the best team in the NFL this year. They demolished the packers and Rogers was mere average against a great defense. The Vikings will beat the packers one game this year. The packers have no defense once again. And if any of their receivers get hurt then Rogers will struggle all year.

kenw1952w In reality we are not that far off from being rebuilt. If Simpson turns out to be a great receiver, to go along with Harvin, and the Vikings are smart and be in position to draft the top wide receiver next year in draft. Ponder will finally have 3 great wide receivers to throw to. But the key is for Ponder to prove he will continue to improve. It took Rogers 4 or 5 years of sitting on the bench before he really did anything. If Rudolph continues to improve then he will have 4 threats to throw to. And if Petersons knee holds up we would have a offense comparable to the 98 team. The key is getting an elite wide receiver either via free agency or the draft next year. So the Vikings offense is not that far away from a dominating offense. We all found out the packers went 15-1 last year with a weak defense. And the only reason Rogers is so good is because he has 4 or 5 above average receivers to throw to. You cannot cover 3 great wide receivers especially if you have a great running back. And when Peterson is healthy, he is the best back in football. So don't give up Allen yet.

Oh and also kenw1952 the Vikings need to use free agency to help the defense some next year to, but ken the Vikings can do it if they want to spend the money. Actually ken we do need to lose a bunch of games and be in position to draft the top receiver next year. So if we lose a close game today and lose alot of close games this year that will probably help us the most this year. I would be happy with that. If we hang in there in alot of games and let our new players develop and learn this year that is the best we can hope for. You are right we won't make the playoffs this year so, just hope for some competitive games and be in position to draft a great wide receiver, and sign a top linebacker and a top cornerback in free agency and we could make the playoffs next year. The Viking just better not blow it again at the end of the year and try to win meaningless games.
