Good article ... but player for player, shouldn't the Gophs have that same chip on their shoulder? Frankly, based on recent history (oh, say the last 30-40 years) most Gopher football players came to Minnesota ... because they were told THEY weren't good enough to play elsewhere! I love the Gophs and Coach Kill is gradually turning this around but maybe Saturday's game can be called the Chip Bowl! Let the chips fly! Go Gophers!

2008 called and wants its nonsense back from 2012: -- "Just past the midpoint of its season, the Minnesota football team (6-1, 2-1 Big Ten) is already bowl eligible and last weekend earned a top-25 ranking all three major polls (Associated Press, USA Today Coaches’, Harris Interactive) as well as a spot in the initial Bowl Championship Series standings. It is the first national ranking for the Gopher football team in three years and a stunning achievement for a program that is in the midst of putting together one of the greatest turnarounds in NCAA college football history under second-year head coach Tim Brewster."

And if Kill continues to recruit MAC-like players, he'll be in close games with teams from conference during his short tenure at Minnesota. The reason OSU is 27-0 is that they recruit BETTER players. Kill needs to step up his recruiting and fast. I hope Teague has him on a short lease; no more than this year and next to start winning conference games. And you don't do that with MAC-like players.

'd'man 9:23am- chill out! Kill hasn't even washed through those who were previously recruited by Blow Hard Brewster! Some are good players some may not be - that's why it takes about 3-5 years to truly judge a coach who takes over a program. Kil IS the man!
