Ponder - tap anger, fury, remorse, something, anything. The O needs to come alive or the season will become meaningless quickly.

Cold blooded killers is how the best QBs operate. Find the weak spot in the defense and go after it mercilessly.

I don't care what or who Ponder is tapping-but by the end of this year he better prove he's a solid NFL starter in this league and worthy of keeping as a franchise QB. After two years in the league, you should show more than a flash here and there.

"On the final eight possessions against the Jaguars, Ponder went 17-for-20 for 232 yards, leading six scoring drives in the 26-23 overtime victory" .............. I would say that these stats are much more than "flashes here and there" of very good play. Those numbers are outstanding, I don't care who you are. Yes, Ponder started out game 1 slow, as did the whole offense (and offensive coordinator). This won't be the first time I'll have to remind people this year, but Ponder has had exactly ONE nfl off season. And, with one full off season, and the very first time he has been named the starter for the season, he is 1-0. He'll lose some games this year, so maybe we should save our vitriol for after those games.

2 Quarters of good play is enough for you? 1 scoring drive and your SOLD? Thru their 9 first starts in the NFL, Ponder and Tjack have almost the same Passer Rating (66 rating for Tjack)(68 passer rating for Ponder). Food for thought.

To be honest, I'd rather have a QB that starts slow and finishes strong. While he is building into an offensive tempo, the other teams defense is (hopefully) getting tired. A clutch QB is key. Take Eli Manning for example. He starts slow, finishes strong. I don't know how the season will turn out for the Vikings or Ponder, but I don't think a slow start has to be a killer. 17 for 20 out of the last 8 possessions is outstanding. In the end, there are only two stats in football that matter: the number of W's you get in a season, and whether or not you win the Super Bowl.

Ponder getting angry? For some reason, I think Christian Ponder and I see visions of fluffy bunnies. Okay, if he wins.

Wow, the negative nellies are the best part about reading the comments section. Apparently you can't be a good QB in the NFL unless 100% of your plays are good plays. Anyone that complains about a QB finishing 17-20 and six scoring drives INCLUDING THE GAME TYING AND WINNING DRIVES needs to find something they enjoy to spend their time on.

More food for thought: A guy named Peyton Manning had a Passer Rating of 64 through his first 9 games. He turned out to be ok.

This QB rating discussion makes me think of TJack, who did lead the Vikes to a division championship with the help of a great defense. I don't think he should be our QB now. My point is that I'm much more concerned about the Vikes D getting that offense onto the field. That's what I was most concerned about with this last game.
