"Ponder hopes Vikings build on momentum" ---- That faux-win carries the same amount of momentum as a piece of lint falling from six feet.

"In the second half, Ponder played as well as any Vikings quarterback has played" - ummm...really, Sid? Cunningham looked pretty darn good in '98. You know, the team with a record-setting offense.

Ponder said, this win will set the tone for the rest of the season? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We were playing one of the worst teams in the NFL, at home and went into OT just to pull off the win. It's sad but honestly, our MN Vikings are top5 worse teams this year. JAC, MN, CLE, MIA, IND.

@joe_anoka - It's not a real simple job. Have you been to an NFL stadium before? They're quite big.

smakola - How hard can it be? Just buy the schematic of Lucas Oil Field for $50 from the Indianapolis city planner and then make a few tweeks here and there.

"$20 million just to draw up some plans for the new stadium... seriously???" Yeah Joe, time to bend over.

CP, just make sure that, AFTER the defense comes up with a big play and puts the football back in your hands, you don't give it RIGHT BACK with a fumble... Sheesh! Oh, and one more thing, how about STARTING the game with the intensity of the two-minute drill?!? Clue Musgrave that that's how consistent winners play the game. That first half was pathetic. Congrats to Randy Moss! Way to rub the pack, and fans, nose it IT, Randy!!! GO VIKINGS!!!

Hey think of how different last year might've gone if they didn't give up big leads in the first 3 games. Winning creates confidence, and it's contagious. It was a great win because they were right back in the position they put themselves in all last year, and this time they WON. Already, from the players' perspective, things are different. Yeah it can set the tone for the season.

On the final eight possessions against the Jaguars, Ponder went 17-for-20 for 232 yards, leading six scoring drives in the 26-23 overtime victory. And, after putting up said numbers, the Vikings faithful was heard booing on the blogs. I'm guessing only the people that hate sports paid for the Strib membership.
