The Vikings took comfort in an opening victory that came despite some obvious struggles against the Jacksonville offense.

the viking's defensive backfield is not good and is still one of the worst units in the league and will continue to get torched week in and week out. The fact that they looked bad against the Jags who are amongst the worst in the league when it comes to a passing game just wait how auful things will be when they face a playoff caliber team from last year. Also, Chris Cook continues to be a major liabilty, he obviously hasn't figured out how to play in the NFL (even after three years) and until we can get some NFL caliber talent in the d-backfield this defense is destined to keep us in last place in the NFC North Division!!!

people did you not see the big push off by the Jags WR, it was clear as day right in front of the replacement referee who again didnt call it. man o man.

At least we're not as bad as that Packers "defense."

I thought Robison and Greenway played well but the defense as a whole left me with that same old "can't stop anyone" feeling I've had for the past couple of seasons. Tackling was aweful! Where is the run defense? Where is Phat Pat these days and is he ready to come back? I know I was yelling for him a few times on Sunday when we couldn't stop the run! We need to play lights out D against the Colts' rookie QB on Sunday or else we start combing the streets for some people who want to play defense!

They barely beat a bad team. Time to plan your Super Bowl trips!

Good to get a win, but let's be real, they beat a bad team. Things will have to improve quite a bit if this team wants a winning season.

The defense may have given up the touchdown but a lot of the blame has to fall on the offense. They got the ball with 1:51 left and punted with 1:31 left! When the defense forced Jacksonville to punt with 2:00 left, they had done their job.

realtybitesSep. 11, 12 7:21 AM

They added zero impact players to one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year, plus made no scheme changes to a repeatedly proven Frazier Tampa 2 failure. What else did anyone expect ?

Jared Allen was largely ineffective. Robison outplayed him.

I'd like to know which game Robinson was watching, because it looked to me like Gabbert could have taken a nap back there.
