Well, supposedly, they told tall tales ranging from itsy bitsy white lies to great big ol' whoppers. At least, that's what everyone from fact checkers to their opponents are saying.

forget what their lips say, and look at how well the country is doing. You can blame the previous administration for only so long. In fact, you can only blame others for your problems for so long as well; good life lesson in there.

"Obama "funneled" $716 billion from Medicare (Romney has said the same thing repeatedly). It's not true."

If it is not true then why did Obama admit in an interview that it is? Don't believe it? Look it up - it is all over the internet.

tupelohoney: "'Obama "funneled' $716 billion from Medicare (Romney has said the same thing repeatedly). It's not true." It's NOT true. The $716 billion in Obama's plan is a reduction in expenditures to insurance companies and middlemen. In Romney's statement, he would give that money back to insurance companies and middlemen and take benefits away from elderly Medicare beneficiaries. That's the difference, honey: reduce overpayments to insurers (Obama) or cut medical care for the elderly (Rmoney).

tranqwhl: "forget what their lips say, and look at how well the country is doing." Four years ago, John McCain was suspending his campaign to rush to Washington to try to keep the country from crashing into the second Republican Depression. Not happening today. Things aren't perfect, but everyone is better off today than they were in the wake of the Bush economic disaster which caused the loss of 5 million jobs in less than 12 months.

Oops - "Bill Clinton said ..." While the commentary is balanced, they mix the terms deficit (shortfall in a fiscal year before the years closes) with debt (what the US owes total, measured after the fiscal year closes (well, measured on US govt sites and site who know the difference, anyway)
