What does this 2-0 mean?

On the one hand, it shows the Gophers have talent. But even in defeating weak foes, some flaws are still obvious.

I can answer the question in the title for you. It means that they have not played anybody in the Big Ten yet.

It's a lot better to work on flaws after a big win, then a humiliating loss. The Big 10 is down and the Gophers are their way up. The future is looking better. Go Gophers

The big difference between Coach Kill and predecessors- after 2 consecutive wins Coach Kill is looking to improve the club. True enough there is still plenty of room to improve. But his predecessors would have been looking for a contract extension after two consecutive wins! UNLV and New Hampshire games likely would have been losses under previous coaches. Gophs will still have their hands full in the Big Ten this season but I am hopeful they will push most opposition into the 4th quarter this yesr and maybe have an upset win in there somewhere! Already they are better than they have been in recent seasons. Go Coach Kill! Go Gophers!

2-0 is awesome, but the Gophs still have to bring their "A" game every week, and take the season one game at a time. I am all in for Coach Kill and his staff. He and they are doing it the right way. Ski U Ma.

Coach Kill is the man for the job, and this job is not an easy one. A team like ours that has underperformed for decades cannot be rebuilt in a short time. It's a culture issue and this guy is changing the culture.

minneg56: remember, Kill got an extension AND a raise after ONE victory (one of the three games he should have won). So don't jump on this bandwagon too early. I hope he's the right guy for the job, but to date, his recruiting and coaching abilities have been less than required. If he continues to get the 12th-ranked conference recruiting class every year, he'll be just another loser in a long line since Murray. Only conference wins will prove he's the right man for the job. I'm encouraged, but just a little. Let's talk again after Thanksgiving.

The true great news is that there is panic in Madison and Iowa City. Go Gophers.

regardless of anything I think Kill is on the right track. the Gophers are making basic adjustments and improvements. as the year progressed last year you saw it and we're seeing it again this year. They didn't talley wins last year but moving toward repectable games at the end of the year was the goal. this year i would think Kills goal is 6 or 7 wins and the tiddy bowl. baby steps. until they're relevant i'll look to the steps forward as hope.

2-0? Well its a nice start, but not very meaningful if they are 2-1 after next week. W. Michigan is not a bad team (in the MAC), and much better than New Hampshire. Gophers should win BUT stronger opponent than either UNLV or NH. Interested to see if there is continued improvement, think there will be..............

dewarf- if you call 50 + years of following and rooting for the Gophs 'jumping on the bandwagon' ... but I get your point. Conference wins this year will likely be scarce. But I've waited 50 years and feel Kill is our most realistic chance for respectable and competitive football in many years.
