The Gophers' front brings to mind 1977, when the line keyed an upset of Michigan.

Right now Patrick the one game that defines Gopher Football for me is that evaporation of the 31-7 fourth quarter lead against Michigan. They blew that big of a lead because the coaching did not adjust at all to what the Wolverines were doing/swing pass after swing pass. I would have fired Mason right there. Not only for blowing that lead but his refusal to make adjustments. That won't happen with Kill.

Clearly, the interior DL aren't carrying a #50 sack of potatoes on their abs, as was acceptable prior to the Kill era. Let's see how they look against Iowa & Northwestern.

It's early and against a couple inferior foes, but yes, I'm encouraged. How this carries over into the conference season will be the real test for this team.

MAJOR REALITY CHECK: UNLV is ranked 126th & New Hampshire is ranked 139th. Even Timmi B. was once 7-1!!!!

All I know is the Gophers and Vikes won, and the Badgers and Packers lost. I'm content for now. Let's see what happens when stronger opponents line up against them.
