Nice to see the Gopher actually beating DII programs this year-unlike the past.

Nice, laugh it up against the pesky Wildcats. Next up, the 9 man pirates.

I hate getting my hopes up when we play cupcake teams before the conference play begins. We have NO idea how good they are right now.

As Mason says, you need to beat the low level teams, so this was a good game. The Big 10 is weak this year, so a good start will build interest with fans support and get the team ready for league play. Go Gophers!

Shortell looked good too. Yes, it was an FCS team and the game was decided but he showed he can throw the ball. Every pass he threw was right where it needed to be to be completed. His running? Not so much. Go Gophers!

The comment about Shortell is what has me excited. This year will have ups and downs, hopefully enough ups to keep everyone engaged. Next year, year 3 will have to be one in which the Gophs are competitive in the conference, Shortell, or someone else will have to step up. Coming out of high school I expected a college ready freshman. But last year he looked nervous and overwhelmed. Yesterday he performed with confidence and accuracy like we expected. Go Gophs!

Yes UNH may be a cupcake team, but at least the Gophers beat them. One step at a time. I also liked how Shortell looked. He was VERY acurate with his passing, but his running needs work. But all in all, the Gophers looked good yesterday.

MAJOR REALITY CHECK: UNLV is ranked 126th & New Hampshire is ranked 139th. Even Timmi B. was once 7-1!!!!
