bolock54: Saw Lew hit two (2) triples in one game at the Dome way back when BALLFOUR: Never happened. Lew Ford never hit two triples in a game in his MLB career. Two in a month, multiple times, but not in a game.

Lew Ford is another guy on a long list of guys who only the Twins thought anything of.

That's OK bolock54. One of the great things about baseball is the memory of good times, even if you remember them wrong! Lew played hard. I'm rooting for him.

Lew Ford and Jim Thome are the reasons I want the O's to win it all this season.

Good for Lew -- it's really amazing he made it back to the "Bigs" at his age! In looking at his "Reboulet-esque" BA he won't stick around for long.......lol

"Lew Ford is another guy on a long list of guys who only the Twins thought anything of."__ Have to agree with you. While he did have a pretty good first full season, that was pretty much it. He could turn on an inside fastball as well as anyone, but when pitchers figured he couldn't handle much else, well... Still, one of the main reasons why the fans liked him, is because he always busted his butt in the game. That and he was a bit quirky. One of the stories is that Lew may, or may not, have burnt himself because he tried to iron a shirt WHILE IT WAS ON HIM (truth? or urban legend?). Say what you will, but Minnesota fans will at least appreciate an honest effort from players.
