Plouffe's thumb obviously isn't healthy. Get off his back if he were an established veteran he'd be riding out the season on the DL. Give him some credit for trying to keep his job even though he's really not healthy enough to swing normally.

bolock54... yeah, bittersweet day on the zoilo deal, same with rodney getting away. The old Met was fairly spartan by todays standards, but I'll never forget it. I can still conjure up the aroma of the hotdogs and popcorn upon walking thru the gates, it was pure magic for a little kid. I'll never forget always seeing Calvin walking through the stands to get to the press box before games, and we would always say 'good afternoon (or eve) Mr. Griffith, without fail he would say, "thanks for coming out today boys... earl battey, zoilo, tony-o, rodney, bert, "love that kid" herbie, kirby, bruno, the g-man, sweet music... too many to list, were strugglin' right now, but we will be back, we have always emerged from every down cycle better then before and ready to go....

What I think is amazing is that Tom Kelly was born not far away in Graceville, Minnesota, and Terry Francona and Sparky Anderson were also born within a hundred mile radius of each other. We're talking, what, six World Championships between these three Twins Territory natives?

They traded Harmon, too. But between him, Johann Santana, Gary Gaetti and Tom Brunansky, the one that hurt the absolute worst was trading Rod Carew and I think even he wishes he could do everything over again.

They traded Harmon, too. BALLFOUR: Harmon Killebrew was never traded in his entire career.

Fans know Killebrew finished his career in Kansas City. Wikipedia says he was "released" by the Twins. I stand corrected.
