all we need now is pee tests on the lab techs, and they will close the place down. if they're not venting into fume hoods, the crime lab in St. Paul constitutes drug paraphenalia ;)

Let me see if I got this correctly: 1) a sample is brought in 2) the machine tests it 3) it tests positive for illegal drugs 4) the machine vents any aspirated air from the original sample onto other samples waiting to be tested 5) the original owner of the original sample goes to jail 6) all the other owners of other samples that were exposed to the venting go to jail. 7) we fill up our jails 8) tax payers pay for filled up jails 9) we mess up 1x? peoples lives by sending them to jail for a crime that should be legalized, or worse, that they did not commit. Minnesotans especially St Paul citizens should write to their mayor.

If the equipment in question uses a flame ionization detector, which is common, then the samples are destroyed in the testing process. The vapor should be vented out of a hood, but it is probably no longer chemically the same as the original materials. Also, the size of the sample that is tested is typically minute, perhaps the size of a grain of salt.

The BCA? Ha Ha Ha Ha. I believe their job is to exonerate cops for things that would get other people charged and locked up for years.
