If the Jags were the worst, the Vikes had to be second worst in passing. Let's see, we addressed it by adding a suspended drug pusher who drops balls, a TE who specializes in injuries, and two 4th round picks. Cudos to Spielman and Frazier. Where's their contract extensions, Ziggy ?

Left tackle and defensive backfield were more important needs. Yes our WR were/arent great but a terrible o-line and the second worst passing D in NFL history needed to be addressed. Vikings made the right position choices in the top two draft spots. If they made the right player choices is yet to be seen. Unless we make some trades, WR, LB and CB will be top priority next years draft. (Assuming Ponder plays well enough to hold onto his job) It would have been great to be able to get a LT, SS and WR in first round, unfortunately that isn't how it works.

It's a question of need and strategy....we could have signed a $100M Free Agent at wide out and people would then be complaining that we tied up too much money in that position and not enough elsewhere. Plus, if the value isn't there, you can't just sign an expensive rookie or FA and limit your team's ability to grab a quality player next year. I've been critical of Spielman before (admitted) but I am seeing some progress in terms of personnel.

Morg: if there was anyway to digitally kick you in the man jewels for even mentioning Mr. Stickum, I would.
