Seeing shoes as more immune to seasonal changes, Gander Mountain is beefing up its offerings - even adding sales staff.

guaranteed to be priced 20% higher than other stores, that's the Gouger Mountain way.

First they should focus on putting correct prices on the current items in their stores.

Gander Mountain - Hunt, Fish, Camp .... in trendy fisher-price neon colors. What next? Selling fishnet stockings instead of fishnets? Why don't they just become Walmart and end their misery?

How about pricing their ammunition so that the average hunter can afford it? Fleet Farm is the only place that try's to give the hunter a reasonably priced product. Don't we really have enough places to buy shoes?

Good, so Gander Mountain will now be even more worthless than they already are. Maybe if they spent more time examining the products they have in their fishing and hunting departments they wouldn't see such swings in sales. I could go on and on about all the ways I think Gander screws up, but it would just take too long to write.

A story about a privately-held retailer is less informative than its press releases. About as useful as a story about a football team without any statistics, or a won-loss record.

Any man with a narrow foot "A, B" can forget about finding footwear that will actually fit. Almost all shoes and boots offered are sized for medium width thru EE but nothing for a narrow foot.

At REI I get a better selection, better prices, 20% off sales that effect every item in the store biannually, 10% back on everything I buy at the end of the year, very knowledgeable employees, and a lifetime return policy on anything for any reason. Sorry Gander Mountain, but adding neon shoes to your log mansion stuffed animal filled stores isn't going to do it. Try again.
