This defensive backfield has so many holes they will conrinue to get torched week in and week out!!! Harrison Smith was an average player on a horrible Notre Dame defense, the vikings took him three rounds too early out of complete desperation. Carr has been cut already, Winfield is injury prone and too slow to keep up with young recievers which spells disaster. To suggest that the vikings upgraded their defensive backfield is either a homeristic pipedream or an outright lie!!!

Would have been impossible for them to be worse.

Agree with posters......they are not that good. The only saving grace will be a solid and disruptive D-Line and linebacker crew. That secondary cannot make the big play when needed......take most of the first half last week. How many 3rd and longs and still cannot get off the field? The defense will quickly wear down if this trends continues.

They were so bad last season you would think that anything would be an improvement. But, No.

Agree with Nodak, they are no better than last year and may be worse after watching end of both halves.
