Giants coach Tom Coughlin doesn't crave the spotlight. He just insists on attention to detail from his teams.

It's easier to be a football genius when you coach the Giants, Packers, Steelers, or Patriots. They are the darlings of the NFL.

A genius is someone embodying exceptional intellectual ability, creativity, or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of unprecedented insight. I think Tom Coughlin is an excellent coach, but with the personnel he has, what he does can hardly be called unprecedented. Can we please stop throwing out the genius card everytime a football coach has a few good years? I'm so sick of that!

Can we also stop using the word guru to describe an offensive or defensive coordinator? I don't think anyones camping outside of Bill Musgrave's office in the hope some offensive knowlege is going to rub off.

I find it funny that 3rd most popular QB in New York has two Super Bowl rings and one SB MVP.

I appreciate Coughlin. Lombardi would be well at ease with him. But a genius is someone who finds a cure for a disease. A guru is someone who helps you with ethereal questions. A football coach is a guy who gets athletes to bang their heads together for our amusement.

I agree with what others have posted here. Enough of this "genius" garbage! Tom Coughlin is not a "genius".

I don't agree, with a couple posts, we should have just as good a personnel, as the Giants, if we would have drafted the right players, or signed the right free agents.
