Black spruce are 35 feet tall and grow 2 feet apart. They are standing kerosene and will fuel explosive fires. The air qualityin Minny is lousy due to Canadian and western forest fires. When the forest fries, smoke gets in your eyes.

Fire is a natural part of a forest's life cycle. Suppressing fires has stopped processes that make forests healthy by thinning under brush making any fires that do happen more destructive than they would be otherwise. Man has not been able to do better than nature.

lets hope there is little damage or no damage to any buildings or sites in the BWCA, but on the other hand it could improve cell service, oops some might not like that

This story forgets to mention that the main reason last years Pagami Creek fire was the largest they've seen in almost a decade...was because they dropped tons of napalm like gasoline. They're "experience" and "knowledge" lead them to the conclusion that this would help force the fire one direction. They based this decision on "computer models" and blamed that the conditions changed so fast...and so sudden...that it was those reasons for it getting out of control. I'm glad they learned from this ill-advised move and decided to get to work on this right away instead of fuel the fire.

Let it burn. Fire is natural and we should not impede it.

@wettej01: Yeah, I bet you'd be saying that if it was headed for your property. Right?
