Todman, Rosenfels among those cut by Vikings

A big game Thursday did not save the running back, while the Vikings elected to go young with their backup QBs.

Sage Rosenfels cut. Now there is no veteran presence behind Ponder. I guess I'm just not smart enough to understand the football philosophy of Rick Speilman. Good luck if Ponder gets hurt - I guess we're trying to secure the first pick in the 2013 draft.

I am so disappointed that the Vikings cut Jordan Todman. I'm so high on this kid. I understand they like Asiata, but no one can make a legitimate argument that Asiata has a higher upside than Todman. I've been standing up for Frazier, Spielman and company, but this is really disappointing. Todman has burst, speed, and surprising size. And they kept a converted FB instead (it's not that I don't like Asiata). Good luck Jordan! I believe we're gonna see you blow up in a different uniform. He isn't going to clear waivers.

If Ponder gets hurt, this means we have to watch Webb or Bethel-Thompson run the show. Either one would be a disaster. Spielman was terrible in Miami and he's going to be terrible here.

Rosenfels' vested veteran contract will be expensive -- he was guaranteed $500,000 in base salary! Is this writer on drugs! What is the minimum salary for a veteran QB? Cannot be far from this amount! Too bad it was guaranteed; but look at the Minnsota Gophers and their headcoaches making between $1.5 to $2 million a year guaranteed for term of the contract and extensions! Vikings end up fine in the salary situation. Gophers got the shaft big time.

It doesn't matter who makes this pathetic squad becaus the vikings are headed for their third straight last place NFC North Division finish coupled with a 4-12 record to boot. Bye bye Leslie!!!

The vikings are hoping that Todman clears waivers but he is not going to. This kid has too much talent. Our nightmare should be that he winds up in a green and gold uniform.

I'm glad to hear they kept Asiata. Short term, he can help this team more than Todman. Everyone says this is a passing league now, so maybe he makes it to the practice squad. Could see the Sage cut coming, the Vikes didn't want to try to sneak another QB through waivers. The Carr cut surprised me, but he really looked bad at times playing against 2nd and 3rd teamers. Now to go find the whole list.

Spielman is GOING to be terrible here. HE ALREADY IS TERRIBLE. Why are we about to finish last for the 3rd year in a row....RICK SPIELMAN is the reason. He destroyed the Miami Dolphins and the combination of WIlf and Spielman are doing the same to the Vikings. I hope Zygi is learning from the Minnesota Twins. Fans will only pay to see a crappy team for a couple of years in a new stadium. If Zygi doesn't improve the team before then, all bets are off.

Am I the only one who watched all Pre-season and saw Webb do his best impression of McNabb and skip the ball 5 yards short of the nearest player and he does that ALOT .... Also so sick of hearing People say he is awesome did you see that game where he rushed for 100 yds but what you pretended to not see was he had to run cause He cant make simple passes and he has great games when teams dont prepare for him, oh yeah just a stat when Webb starts his passer rating is only 48.9 so no he SUCKS ......
