Cheap fair eats

Or maybe we should say inexpensive.; But yes, it's possible to eat well, while spending less, at the Minnesota State Fair. Here are a dozen ideas.

Great article! Many of the foods mentioned are annual favorites - and that Midway Men's Club sounds like a keeper!

I agree; this is a great article. I appreciate a positive article where no one is the "bad guy." If only I had read it before attending the fair!

At $3.50, I think the deep fried sliders at Axel's are dollar-for-dollar the best tasting food at the fair.

An article on "good values" would be better than cheap. I don't go to the fair to eat a two-buck mediocre burger. A $3 ear of corn isn't exactly cheap (I got a 16 for $4 from a farmer, that's cheap). A few good ideas,though. Go fair!

Thanks so much! Read this article again today before heading out to the fair. Best treat - Mediterranean Lemonade from Holy Land Deli. Beyond delicious and refreshing. You were so on point, I could enjoy that drink all summer long!
