Too bad they don't have a QB who can throw them the ball. Another rotten season for the Gophers as usual.

The legacy of Tim Brewster: No scholarship receivers from his 'era.' Now, he's a receivers' coach at Mississippi State--obvious desparation. If you can't challenge the defenders with some deep threats, I don't think you can pass at all, except to a TE off play action. If the Gophers could just be average (7-8th) in passing or pass efficiency in the Conference, it would be a huge improvement, and they're not going to have that this year--another rough year.

actually gray is throwing the ball much better now and that is to be expected after a yr in the system and after a yr in which he wasn't a qb prior to high school. with his running ability he doesnt have to be andrew luck back there in the pocket making 3 or 4 different reads. he simply needs to be more accurate when the receivers are open and not force it when they aren't. i think he will have a great yr.

as far as the receivers, we are young but we will be fine there. mcdonald is big with decent speed so he can be a tough matchup. harbison is shorter but quick and fast and kill said he should have been sought by big time sec schools. then kj maye is a rb/wr who is electric in the open field and will be a dangerous weapon for this offense. these 3 freshman are talented and will have 4 fairly easy non-conf games to get up to speed and ready for big 10 play. coach kill said jones is stronger and looks even more explosive and quick then he was prior to the knee injury. he is a great weapon in the slot. then there is fruchete(sp?), who is 6'3 210 and runs a 4.3 or 4.4. he is a soph after transferring from jc and he has good hands and ability. another guy with size to go with mcdonald. then there is aj barker who has been the surprise of camp and green who is the lone senior and he might not even play much. this rec corps is so young and i believe pretty talented. should be a formidable group in the next 2-4 yrs too.

Well siouxthetalkeroftrash: I am excited the way I am always excited for Big Ten Footall to begin. I've been getting excited for the start of Big Ten Season ever since the late 1950's. If you use sioux in your name, you don't know diddly squat about the history and the battles of the Big Ten. Every season win or lose there are some real battles...real wars that take place on Big Ten Football Fields. Traditions...rivalries...LONG TIME team mascots and names. Certainly not like anything sioux. Why...the sioux mascot and nick-name doesn't even exist...dows it siouxtalkerofthetrash... Let the kids play the games. I'm darn-well going to enjoy Big Ten Football the way I alwyas enjoy Big Ten Football. The Gophers are my team and they have been for almost 60 seasons. Nothing you can do siouxtalkerofthetrash will ever dampen the Big Ten Season for me... ; 0 )
