Defenses may have a hard time matching up on both tight ends, but it doesn't matter because we don't have anyone to get the ball to them.

Ponder will get the ball to them. What, he throws one pick in the preseason, so his career is now dead? Get real.

Eager to contribute? He BETTER BE EAGER! The Vikings are paying him a few dollars short of what Aaron Rodgers is making. This is definately the worse contract, on the team.

Defenses will have to go with their base personnel and they'll have a hard time matching up.".........Again, we had the two TE offense last year with Shiancoe and Rudolph, or did Musgrave not realize Shiancoe was a TE. That would explain why we released him and paid 25M for a guy in Carlson who didn't play in the NFL last year.

How many tight ends can the Vikings afford to keep?. If you watched, last game, the fourth tight end Reisner, led the team in receptions. Had a great game. Rudolph, Carlson, and the other tight end, that was drafted, are locks to make the team. So Reisner, will probably be released, do not think the Vikes will keep four tight ends. Was against this Carlson signing, think money spent on a quality WR would have been a wiser decision. Not sure what Spielman was thinking, as usual.

Rudolph has the best hands on the team, should have a great year. Shaincoe was invisible last year and we had two great pass catching TE on the team. Here's hopin Musgrave/Ponder take advantage of Kyle and Carlson this year.

Sure, Rudolf has great hands (and I'm really looking forward to see if we can use him properly for anything more than a six yard button hook on first down). But, did anyone see him get blown up by a DE on the one play where he came in motion back to the backfield from wide out to block (sure, Ponder held the ball too long or failed to step up)? Rudolf and Carlson might be nice pass catchers, but we have no blocking tight end (and don't use a FB) - Ellison and Reisner are not going to solve that.

Here's hopin Musgrave/Ponder take advantage of Kyle and Carlson this year.................. Hears hoping that Carlson can stay healthy all year.

Quick Comments...Last place, Wilf Cheap, Spielman inept, Ponder benched. Guess we have to wait until next year to be competitive, and maybe many many years before we are contenders. Thanks Rick Spielman for your masterful insight into managing the personnel.

When I read about Carlson, I keep thinking of Thomas Tapeh. Signed in 2008 to a decent free agent deal, then released in October because he couldn't get on the field. This isn't going to end good.
