"GOP theme: We can turn things around" ... They had 8 years under Bush. Not one more minute do they get.

All we need are tax cuts, and that will magically turn things around. This is the Grover Norquist approved Republican message. I bet it will work just fine!

The only thing they can turn around as far as I am concerned is the bus they rode in on.

Our country is not a business!!!! And can not be run like one. What is good for capitalism is not necessarily (or by definition) good for the country or its people.

"The convention theme -- "A Better Future" -- will cast Romney as a can-do guy who will unshackle American capitalism from "big government" taxes and regulation." WHAT A JOKE! and the joke will be on us. What shackles? Most of American businesses don't even have their HQ's officially in the US. That way they don't have to pay US taxes. These "shackled" businesses have amassed a multi trillion dollar war chest. They're not hurting! We are!!! So Romney's going to "help entrepreneurs and women start businesses" and will lead the country out of the economic doldrums in one year? 9 out of 10 businesses fail in their first year leaving a mountain of debt and unemployed workers. So Romney's going to pile on the debt add more unemployed to the 8.3% in his first year? Where's the job growth in that plan? Two stimulus packages didn't work. Lowering the interest rates helped the banks but not the economy. Bernanke seems to have run out of ideas and Obama is saddled with a do-nothing NO Congress which is anti everything he suggests. Romney wants to stimulate the economy with the Bush Tax Cuts which haven't helped in 12 years and won't help in the next 100. Economists such as Paul Osterman, economics professor at MIT, have suggested raising the minimum wage (CNN Money 9/27/1) but no one cares to listen. We will struggle thru to November and the winner will have until January to come up with a plan. Meanwhile 20% of working Americans will be struggling to make it on poverty wages and not enough money to spend this economy back to life.

Romney's voodoonomics policies of giving tax cuts to the rich by extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich as well as cutting other taxes for the rich while also unnecessarily increasing the military budget will wreck America's economy. Doing this will lead to higher deficits which will make Romney, Ryan and the Republicans cut the budget more than they intend on doing when they cut the budget with the Ryan budget plan. All you seniors are going to see your benefits affected one way or another. ALL government programs will be on the Republican chopping block. The middle class and the poor will suffer from Romney if he becomes president. Folks, face the facts, giving tax breaks to the rich doesn't create jobs because the rich already have enough money to buy all the things that create jobs or already own the things that create jobs. The rich already own or can buy the cars, houses, clothes, household goods, food, services that make our economy grow. So giving tax cuts to the rich doesn't create more jobs, it only makes them richer and us worse off. What we need to do is to give tax breaks to those making $15,000 to $52,000 dollars a year so that they can start buying things because this group of wage earners don't have much money at all if any after paying their bills that cover the basic things in life to live on. It's called building the economy from the bottom up, something that President Obama and the Democrats want to do and not from the voodoonomics way of top to bottom as Romney and the Republicans want to do. Vote for President Obama and the Democrats because they want to help all of us Americans unlike Romney and the Republicans who only want to help the rich get richer while making the rest of our lives more miserable.
