How about reviving the Nicollet Tower project? Would be a great addition to downtown.

I never thought I'd live downtown. Now that I've been here for about 4years, it was definitely a smart move. And while part of me isn't happy to see more inventory coming, I also know that the more people move here, the more restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and other businesses appear. Now if we could just get a school....

There is a school: FAIR school, focused on the fine arts and academic excellence. And De LaSalle is right there on Nicollet Island (even though it's a private Catholic school). But I agree, another k-6 school would be a good idea for downtown, especially on in DTE (downtown East).

"The Nicollet" was the best project site downtown. Target did not pay $11 million for the site and $3.5 million for the Scientology building to use the site for volleyball as they say.

There's also another school downtown....IPR (Institute of Production & Recording) at 1st Ave. & 3rd Street... I teach there...

I was hoping they would'nt have nocked down 7 floors on the new proposal (27 from 34 floors), but glad it's being built. I hope someone ressurects that 60-story Nichollet project.

At least being downtown, no one will have a fit over a new building that is over 3 stories high.
