After several seasons of struggling in the defensive backfield, the team looks loaded and ready to stop opposing receivers.

Depth? That assumes your starting DB's are of at least above average quality. Chris Carr has been burned 2x for TD's in 2 pre-season games and Chris Cook hasn't had a solid year yet. Then you have 3 unproven rookie DB's. Am I living on planet Xenon?

How about when we get burned deep and there isn't a single cornerback on the team that has enough speed to catch a receiver after blown coverage?

Some teams would call Cook and Carr, an issue at secondary, but the Vikings call it Depth. Nice Touch...

It could be argued that they now have more players of unknown caliber in the Safety and DB positions, but depth has to be proven. Boasting about a Bears special teams free agent, instead of grabbing a known quality DB or Safety is a joke, but from the Vikings perspective it is a major NFL coup d'état. Yup, with moves like this Rick S. has shown us how he will build the next NFL Dynasty! Could be worse, we could have Denny actually putting a receiver in a starting DB again.

They have a lot of unproven players in the backfield. That isn't depth. It is just bodies. Let's see how they actually play in a few regular season games before anyone calls this a 'strength' of the defense. The entire defensive backfield is still suspect until they prove it on the field. I will admit that some of the rookies look like they have a lot of potential though.

Would guess Fraziers unamed team, were the packers, we could not match up with there multiple receiver sets. This year remains to be seen, will not take much to be a upgrade.

Whoa guys, such negativity. Last year the secondary was a mess. But that was with Winfield hurt, Cook in legal troubles, and admittedly bad safeties. This year we have Winfield, Cook, Robinson, Carr, Bowman, Harrison Smith, and Robert Blanton, besides the two safeties that shall not be named. This secondary is clearly going in the right direction. I don't know what it is about Vikings fans living in MN, but as an outsider, I am always more positive than you guys. Is it the cold up there? The constant losing? Well whatever it is, this time you haters are wrong. The secondary is going in the right direction and will be much better.
