Sid the Spin Doctor of Sports. Spin it anyway you want Sid, The Gophers aren't going anywhere...noe will they. That hole they've been in for the past 50 has gotten bigger and bigger and more comfortable every year.

Sid I think you are the only one on the entire planet who appears surprised the Twins are 50+ games under .500 in about 260 games. Their pitching rotation is truly the joke of the major leagues. Not a single starter was a starter in the rotation in April - and deservedly so. The Pohlads have ripped us off calling this a major league rotation and should not only be embarrassed, but ashamed at the product on the field.

Lack of talent and quality players should be more of a concern. I see young player that kick but in the South. No quality players here, if they were good they would be playing elsewhere!

The Twins should be ripped for not trying harder to deal Willingham and Morneau at the trading deadline. Willingham's career year and modest contract could have been traded to a contender with power issues for a king's ransom in pitching prospects and Morneau's is dead cap space. By the time the Twins would be able to restock their rotation both of these player's contracts would have expired anyway!

The Gophers will be fun to watch with Isaac Fruechte on the team. This kid will be one to watch. He is a true lead by example type guy, and has been a winner wherever he went and is living out his dream. His leadership will be visible on and off the field. Good luck to Isaac and the Gophers!!!

No one wanted Morneau's 15m contact and injury issues. Indeed, it would have been nice to sign a starter or two with that 15m, and we could slide Parmalee in at 1st. Willingham is too great a value to trade, unless someone knocked our socks off with a crazy offer.

Let's see now, the Runners lost to TCU in their last game, 56-7 or so. Based upon the performance of the Gophers for the past many years, that will probably mean a Rebel victory by a touchdown or two led by a freshman quarterback playing his first college game. We will get a sense rather quickly of how far Gray has come if he continues with his 50 percent or so completion rate and runs the ball more than he passes it. If that happens, we will know immediately that it will be a long season for the lads and that Gray will probably finish the second half of the opener in Sin City on the bench with Shortell at the helm.

Kill first has to beat the North Dakotahs of football and be competitive during the big Ten before we can say he is the answer. We may learn that Mason, Brewster and Kill can not recruit in an outdoor stadium this far north. Remember, Mason's recruiting went downhill once he had to inform highschool recruits that the new outdoor stadium is under construction.
