Scott Diamond and Jason Vargas dueled, but the Twins couldn't get the clutch hit and fell to Seattle in the ninth.

What kind of intelligent manager brings in a relief pitcher with an ERA of 6.28 in a tie game for the bottom of the ninth? Seems to me that this is an example where managing "by the book" doesn't work. Add Robertson to the list of players who don't belong on a major league roster. Add one more example of poor decision-making by the management staff.

You don't get clutch hits when you don't have any clutch hitters. And, we don't got none.

I personally believe that when the game is tied at or past the ninth inning, Ronnie G starts to get tired and just wants the game to end. He's been known to make dubious decisions such as bringing in the closer in a tie game, pinch running with 2 outs and a runner on first etc. Has anyone else grown tired of this stale routine yet? Inject some life into this team Pohlad... Oh wait, you think that making changes after two years of horrid baseball would be a "knee-jerk reaction". Shame on you!

Someone needs to tell Mauer that the object of a baseball game is to win not to increase your OBP. Joe needed to take a swing at one of those two called strikes in the game situation he was in.

Twins relief pitching is pathetic! This team will never win with the players they have! If they can score so few runs against the Mariners you know this team is still the bottom feeder in MLB baseball! I have been a Gardenhire fan for a long time but I thinks it's time to fire the manager and all the coaches at the end of the season. The players arent listening to a thing the manager is saying so he needs to go! Need to start over! If they dont spend some money on starting pitching next year, this team will average maybe 20,000 at Target Field next year! People are getting fed up!

No body can walk in the ninth, like Mauer. What bat control by MN's own. Aren't you proud of him? It's all about Joe.

The best thing about this game was that it was played in Seattle, which means it starts late and many people who work, head to bed before it is over so they don't have to endure this anymore.

The Astros canned their manager yesterday after leading them to the worst record in the NL...the Twins do nothing. The Twins are now nineteen games below .500 and still they do nothing. Today is Sunday...so Gardo will be playing his get-away line-up and resting the lads...and after losing and heading to Oakland to have their lunch handed to them...the Twins will still do nothing.
